Zareen was drafted from a jacket. We built the shoulder first — a firm square that sits above the natural line — then let the body fall straight from it, so the kameez reads as tailoring that happens to be modest. The cut-work is worked by hand across a six-inch placket and again at the cuff, which is why the piece takes a tailor nine days.
