Velvet Noor took eleven weeks. The velvet is cut, not crushed, so it holds a directional pile across the body — which means the kameez has to be cut on a consistent grain all the way around, or the light breaks in the wrong place. The hand-work is applied motif by motif and there are one hundred and six of them.
