Gulnar began as a study in restraint — what happens when a classic shalwar kameez is stripped of everything ornamental except the hand itself. The chikankari is worked in the same family of tone as the ground, so it reads as texture from a distance and as pattern from two feet away. This is the piece we re-draft more often than any other, and we are not finished with it.
